It has a soft rubber that does not allow you to hurt your hand when the dog pulls, the rope is super reinforced, braided and strong metal rings, it measures about 1 1/2 meters. For reference, my beagle is 15”, 25 lbs., and on the slim side. Once adjustments were made, the fit is perfect.
